Biden makes agreement with 3 countries to secure their borders
The Special Assistant to the President for Immigration for the Domestic Policy Council, Tyler Moran, told MSNBC that the Biden administration has made agreements with Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala for securing their borders in order to reduce the influx of migrants into the United States, CNN reported.
“We’ve secured agreements for them to put more troops on their own border. Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala have all agreed to do this,” Moran said. “That not only is going to prevent the traffickers, and the smugglers, and cartels that take advantage of the kids on their way here, but also to protect those children.”
The US plans a two-sided approach for resolving the situation at the border, which includes processing unaccompanied minors safely into the US and addressing the reasons why people are migrating to the United States. Moran said this includes making investments in the region, adding that “the President has a blueprint and he’s working with the vice president on this.”
Biden calls for investigation into shooting of Daunte Wright, suggests could have been intentional, condemns looting; Harris comments
President Joe Biden has commented on the police shooting of Daunte Wright in Minnesota, while condemning the looting and violence and calling for “peace and calm,” ABC reported.
“The question is: was it an accident?” Biden asked. “Was it intentional? That remains to be determined by a full blown investigation.”
“We’re calling for peace, calm – and we should listen to Daunte’s mom, who is calling for peace and calm,” Biden continued.
“I want to make it clear again, there is absolutely no justification – none – for looting,” Biden added. “No justification for violence.”
Vice President Kamala Harris commented on the Dante Wright situation on Twitter, writing: “Prayers are not enough. Daunte Wright should still be with us. While an investigation is underway, our nation needs justice and healing, and Daunte’s family needs to know why their child is dead—they deserve answers.”

“Daunte Wright was met with aggression & violence,” Tlaib continued. “I am done with those who condone government funded murder.”
“No more policing, incarceration, and militarization,” Tlaib added. “It can’t be reformed.”
